Men and Women

In previous surveys, men were much more optimistic than women, the difference in responses between the two genders was 5-6 points in favor of men. In the latest survey, this difference completely disappeared — exactly 44.3% of both men and women lived in the week of May 4–8 with the hope for tomorrow.

Researchers at the foundation noticed a traditional "difference" in negative emotions between the genders - every third woman (36.7% of all women) lives in constant fear of tomorrow. Every third man (30.7% of all men) is humiliated because of the conditions of their life.

In the week of May 4th to May 8th, Ukrainian men reached the highest level of humiliation for the month, this figure was 5 points higher than it was usually in April 2020. During the previous three polls, this figure was 25-26% of all men.

Generations

Young people (18-29 years old) continue to be the generation with the highest level of hope for tomorrow. However humiliation is increasing.

Among Ukrainians aged 30-44, the level of fear rose sharply - from 22% on April 17th to 37.4% on May 8th.

The most constant numbers among generations had the oldest generation - these are Ukrainians who are 60 years or older. The number of people of this age looking into tomorrow with hope has even increased slightly compared to the previous week.
